Grants
Grants are available from the National FFA Organization to help support FFA chapters, FFA Alumni chapters and students’ supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).
Scholarships
The National FFA Organization offers several scholarships to members who plan to further their educations after high school. Scholarshipsare sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation.
Scholarships are available to match a wide variety skills, experiences, career goals and higher-education plans. Approximately $2 million in scholarship money is available each year.
About Us
"Future Farmers of America" was founded by a group of young farmers back in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. They taught us that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting-- it's a science, it's a business and it's an art.
FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of career pathways.
So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.
WE ARE FFA
The National FFA Organization is a research and support organization that does not select, control or supervise state FFA association, local chapter or individual member activities. Educational materials are developed by FFA in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Education as a service to state and local agricultural education agencies.
The National FFA Organization is led by a board of directors and six student national officers. Together, they act on recommendations from the national convention delegates and agricultural education’s stakeholders to set the vision and policy for FFA.
The national FFA staff carries out the policies and provides programs and services for the organization.
The national FFA officers represent the members and actively guide the course of the organization during their year of service.

Introduction to the Congressional CharterThe National FFA Organization operates under a Federal Charter granted by the 81st Congress of the United States, and is an integral part of public instruction in agriculture. The U.S. Department of Education provides leadership and helps set direction for the FFA as a service to state and local agricultural education programs.

State FFA associations function within the constitution of the National FFA Organization but may also create individual leadership structures, awards, programs and competitions.
State FFA officers lead the membership of the state associations and are elected by state FFA convention delegates.
Local FFA Chapters are chartered through the state associations.
The heart of the National FFA Organization is at the local chapter level. FFA chapter may be chartered in any public school with an agricultural education program.
Leadership is provided by student officers who are elected each year by the chapter’s members, and by the agriculture teacher who serves as the advisor for the chapter.
National FFA Events
Our Events
FFA events, like the National FFA Convention and FFA Week, celebrate the amazing accomplishments of members, teachers and the agriculture industry. During FFA events, members receive awards and recognition for their hard work, and draw inspiration from the ideas and enthusiasm of their fellow, members, teachers and mentors.
The National FFA Convention & Expo is held each October with nearly 55,000 FFA members and guests from across the country in attendance. Members participate in general sessions, competitive events, educational tours, leadership workshops, a career show and expo, volunteer activities and much more. It is one of the largest annual student conventions in the country.
The National FFA Expo is the only Agricultural, Food Science and Natural Resource Education Show that brings you 47,000 high school students and 4,000 agriculture teachers, all in one place, and all in just three days! No other event can deliver the future buying power of our more than 500,000 National FFA members, advisors and guests.

Be a National FFA Expo Exhibitor
Each year, during the week of George Washington’s birthday, FFA members, advisors, alumni and supporters celebrate the organization’s contributions to local schools, communities and the agriculture industry through National FFA Week.
At FFA camps, retreats and conferences FFA members work on their leadership skills and character development. And, they meet new friends and have have a lot of fun!
The National FFA Organization provides teachers with resources and teaching materials to help them manage all the aspects of their agriculture programs.
